| Bio: | Full Name: Jennifer Teresa Donovan - nicks: Jen, Jenny and Jennybee, though she only allows her brother to call her that as he is the one who bestowed the nickname on her due to her having a thing about getting her honey straight from the bees hive. She's felt the stinger of a bee on more then one occasion. Date of Birth and/or Age: April 21, 1838 - 29 Sexual Preference: heterosexual Ethnic Background: 100% Irish thanks to the immigration of her parents to America from Ireland well before she was conceived. Being American born makes Jen Irish-American Occupation: Will be living with her brother and helping out with his household and possibly in the stables. Family: Father - Patrick Donovan Mother - Teresa Donovan Siblings - Anne Donovan Murphy Elijah Donovan Other family - Brother-in-law, two nieces(Annabelle and Abigail Current Residence: Traveling via stage to New Shelby. Will be living with her brother once she arrives in town. Appearance: Jen stands 5'4" with brown hair and blue-gray, which always seem to hold slight hint of mischief. When she smiles it seems to just light up her whole face, make those blue-gray eyes of her shine, and dimple her cheeks. Having inherited her mother's youthful looks Jen is often mistaken for being younger then her 29 years. And except for those occasions when she is helping with the horses, or riding her favorite mount, Jennifer can usually be found wearing a dress. Personality: Feisty, friendly and free spirited. Jen is one who rarely lets her feathers get ruffled. Though get lucky enough to rile her you will find yourself faced with a living definition of the term "an Irish temper". She can talk up a storm if given the chance, something that on more then one occasion has brought annoyance and a feeling of offensiveness to the unfortunate listener as she has a tendency to babble on about nothing. She also can't seem to keep herself still for any true length of time. Those little hands of hers always need to be doing something, which can range from helping out with the horses to cooking up a meal fit for a handful of hungry men. Special Skills/Weapons Used: Jen is good with horses having grown up around them. She is also quite efficient with a needle and thread, and her culinary talents aren't all that bad either thanks mostly in part to her mother who made sure both her daughters knew more then just the basics of these two womanly type functions. Things her mother insisted were requirements in making a suitable man a good wife. Something she saw happening for both her daughters. Though her older sister, Annie, has found her mate, Jennifer has still be unlucky in that aspect. Her free spirited ways seem to be something that turn away prospective suitors. She's also not too bad a dancer, even knows an Irish dance or two quite well. Weaknesses: Swimming. Jen never really learned how to and if by chance she should find herself in a depth of water where she could not touch the bottom with her feet and still have her head at least a good foot above the waters surface, it's a good assumption that the woman would find herself in a hell of a lot of trouble. Though she knows how a gun is handled from seeing others use it, Jen has never actually used, much less handled, a gun herself. Mice. The little critters just plain scare her for some irrational reason. Should she find herself in the same room with one she will seek higher ground(a stool, chair or table, etc.) and stay there until someone comes to take care of the little varmint. PART THREE Jennifer Teresa Donovan was born the third child of Patrick and Teresa Donovan on the 21st of April in the year 1838. She was wild and willful as a child always seeming to find her way into trouble without much guidance from others. Though she was often the target of her older brother's torment, Jenny took it in stride more often then not, and even sided with her brother in causing mischief against the eldest of the Donovan clan, their older sister Annie. As the years past Jenny seemed to calm in her wild, childhood ways, though never truly loosing her free spiritedness. While men had drifted toward her older sister, when Jenny grew into womanhood she barely got a trickle from the stream of the opposite gender. Annie was what men seemed to want in the prospect of a wife. She was pretty, had a calm and pleasant demeanor, and always seemed to say the right thing at the right time. And had other ladylike qualities that men found attractive. That's not to say Jenny never found herself with a suitor, one actually stuck around for quite a bit of time. Cassidy Quinlan. He was the son of a store keeper in town, and the two seemed to hit it off the first moment they literally run into each other. Unfortunately the breaking out of the civil war disrupted the intended couples plans to marry, or at least briefly delaying things as Cassidy had put it to his intended bride. He just didn't feel he could stay out of the war, and promised that when it ended, which both were the mind of it not lasting for more then a year, neither had thought it would carry out for four long years, he'd come back to marry her. That never came to into realization as on September 1862 heartbreak find its way to Jennifer in the form of a letter informing her that Cassidy had died in the midst of a battle. Jenny remained in living under her parents roof for the following handful of years until she came to a decision that wasn't all that welcomed, at least by her mother. Eli had settled in a town after suffering through tragic losses himself, and though her pain and loss had passed years back, Jenny thought a change of scenery was in order. A start to a new life. And what better way to achieve that then in a new town such as New Shelby. And really why bother her brother with notice of her impeding arrival.
